Q: How do I start sessions with a clinician at Lemonade Mental Health?
A: Every new client is required to have a free 15-minute consultation with our intake coordinator so that we can better help you with questions and paperwork. You can book the consultation via this link 15 minute initial consultation.
Q: Can I receive both therapy and medication management from the same clinician, or will I work with multiple clinicians?
A: There is an option to receive both therapy and medication management from the same provider, depending on the clinician’s availability. We also offer separate sessions with multiple clinicians.
Q: What are the differences between psychotherapy and medication management?
A: Psychotherapy mainly focuses on talk therapy by using different therapy modalities, while medication management mainly focuses on diagnosing, providing treatment plans, and managing medications.
Q: Do you accept clients who are under 18?
A: Sorry, we are currently not accepting clients under 18.
Q: Am I required to be located in Massachusetts?
A: Yes. We are located in Massachusetts; all our clients must be located in MA during their sessions with the clinician.
Q: How long is a typical individual psychotherapy session or medication management appointment?
A: Initial appointments are typically 60 minutes in length.

Follow-up psychotherapy appointments are typically 60 minutes and are often scheduled on a weekly basis. The frequency may vary based on your clinical assessment, your psychotherapist’s recommendation, and your individual needs.

Follow-up medication management appointments are typically 30 minutes. Appointment length and frequency may vary based on your clinical assessment, your preferences, and your clinician’s recommendation.
Q: Are sessions conducted in-person, virtually, or both?
A: The majority of our sessions are conducted virtually. We have limited in-person appointments available. If you are interested in in-person-only appointments, please contact intake@lemonadementalhealth.com to check availability.
Q: What should I expect during my first appointment with our clinicians?
A: Psychotherapy mainly focuses on talk therapy by using different therapy modalities, while medication management mainly focuses on diagnosing, providing treatment plans, and managing medications.Your first appointment is a chance for us to get to know you and understand what brings you in. Your clinician will ask about your symptoms, history, and goals, and work with you to create a personalized plan. There’s no pressure to share everything at once; we’ll go at your pace.
Q: Does your practice help with FMLA or medical leave paperwork?
A: We understand that work or school responsibilities can be impacted by mental health. Our clinicians can help with FMLA or medical leave paperwork when appropriate. An evaluation is required before any documentation can be completed. All documentation is based on clinical judgment and medical necessity.
Q: What is your late cancellation policy? How much advance notice do I need to provide to avoid fees?
A: We have a late cancellation fee of $100 for clients who cancel within 24 hours of their appointment.
Q: Is there a fee for missing a session (no-show), and if so, what is the amount?
A: Yes, there is a no-show fee of $100 if the client misses their appointment.
Q: What happens if I miss appointments multiple times?
A: To ensure the quality and continuity of our care, after four missed appointments within a 6-months period, it may result in termination of care.
Q: Which insurance plans do you accept?
A: We accept many commercial and school insurance health plans. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Point 32 (Harvard Pilgrim and Tufts Health plan), and Oscar. Q: How much do I pay for each session, such as deductibles, copays, or coinsurance?

Q: What is the difference between a deductible, copay, and coinsurance?
A: Deductible: The amount you pay before your insurance starts sharing the cost of covered services.

Coinsurance: A percentage of the cost you pay after meeting your deductible (e.g., you pay 20%, insurance pays 80%).
Q: Do you offer payment plans or sliding-scale fees for clients without insurance or those facing financial hardships?
